Hi there! Spring is finally here, which means one thing, it's time to update my wardrobe! Every season I usually spend I nice chunk of money on clothes that I know will last. So today after my exam I decided its time to do some online shopping damage, and the store I chose was Nordstrom. How I shop online on nordstrom is simple, I just click on the trends tab and then I look through all of those clothes. According to their website this seasons trends are floral, boho, and white; aka perfect. So without further due, here is what's in my shopping cart.
Hi! Like many other girls around the world, I have an online shopping addiction. You can just lounge around in sweatpants and shop without leaving your home, aka it's the dream life. So today I was looking at clothes on forever 21 and they have a ton of cute things! So I decided to show you my wish list! Tonight I decided to go see the movie "Focus", and honestly it was super disappointing! I had very high hopes for this movie because I am a fan of both Margot Robbie and Will Smith, and the trailer was good. But instead it was a flop... I hated Focus because the plot was unrealistic and it wasn't organized. I am a kind of person who needs structure, and this movie lacked it, as a result I was often confused and bored. Although I was bored throughout the movie, I did enjoy Margot Robbie's clothes. It was the only part I found entertaining tbh. For example- So if someone says lets go see focus, tell them absolutely not! It is a waste of time and you could be watching a better movie!
Hi there! Lilly Pulitzer is one of my favorite clothing brands her styles are classic and fun! Their prints are vibrant and colorful, making them perfect for summer. If you want to add these elements to your home for the upcoming season, a super easy way is to paint one of her prints! I have come up with a step-by-step guide, making it super easy for anyone to do with this pattern, "Lobstah Roll" Supplies- 1- canvas (you can get a canvas at any craft store, I recommend the ones that aren't flat because they're harder to hang ) The one I used was 16x24, but use any size you want! 2- Acrylic Paints You need 7 paints! Red or Cranberry Light Pink White Sky Blue Teal Aqua Green of any shade (you can find at any craft store in the little tubes for less than a dollar! Or you can use the "artist" acrylics for a few dollars more) 3- Palette and Brushes 4- Mod Podge- Glossy Kind*** Step #1- Create an outline of the lobsters -Either with pencil or the red paint Tips: -Look at the darker red parts, and use that as your guide -Use a thin paint brush -IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT!! Step #2- Fill in If you look at the picture the inside of the lobsters are pink, light pink and white. I chose not to have the white on the inside of the lobsters, so I just put light pink where the white was. Remember, it is all up to your personal preference To create the darker pink I mixed "cranberry" and pink. For the light pink I mixed "pink" and "white". I know this probably looks intimidating but it is super simple. Just go through each lobster at a time and do the darker part first then light! I promise it is not hard! Also... I messed up a few times, as you can tell! At the bottom I didn't like how close the claws were so I moved it over. Also the bottom of the second lobster was messed up, so I cleaned up the line with white and just moved it over. REMEMBER IT IS OKAY TO MESS UP! Paint can cover up your mistakes(: Step #3- Paint the background and paint over the lobster outlines (red) For my background I used a mixture of white and sky blue to create a nice wash. In the lilly pattern it looks white, but I dont like to leave any part of the canvas blank. I think this color blue is beautiful and subtle! I also went over the red outline again just to make sure it stood out! I made it look imperfect for a reason. The variation of lightness in this blue tone creates the look of water! Step #4- Create waves with Aqua, Teal, and Green This step was the most fun for sure! You just create wavy lines with variations in colors! You can look at the original and make it exact, or you can do what I did and make it imperfect. Step #5- Mod Podge it to make it glossy! Use a bigger paint brush after your painting is dry so it doesn't smear your new piece of art! Here they are side by side! Have fun creating(:
Hi! What is your favorite shampoo? Mine is Lush's Squeaky Green shampoo bar! I love this product because it is the only shampoo I have tried that gives my hair volume, makes it shiny, looks clean, but doesn't dry it out! My hair type is fine and blonde, so it easily falls flat and looks oily. Lush is a great place to look to for natural products. They have an array of things, from bath bombs, to hair dye to shaving cream. So if you are looking for a good shampoo I would try lush out! How to use-
1- Wet your hair like you would before using any shampoo 2- Rub the bar along the top of your hair in a circular motion until it lathers (usually takes me 2 seconds) 3- Put the bar into a tin 4- Lather the shampoo into your scalp 5- Wash out! This product is so simple and easy to use. All you have to do to keep it dry is buy a tin from lush that they sell right next to the dry shampoos for a couple dollars. It also lasts forever, for me usually around 6 months! If you have a different hair type than me, then you're in luck! They have an array of shampoo bars! Check out Lush's Website and see if you want to try one out for yourself! http://www.lushusa.com/Shampoo-Bars/shampoo-bars,en_US,sc.html Well, Hello! I just finished "Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me" today, and it was hysterical. This book is 100% the funniest book I have ever read. It was genius because each chapter was written by one of her friends, family members, or employees. All of them shared how Chelsea has lovingly "bullied" them, by forms of public humiliation, electronically, or by manipulation. Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me is a perfect book to read next to the pool this summer! It is now one of my favorite non-fiction books. The book is quick, witty, fast paced, and you'll get some great ideas on how to prank your friends and family.
XOXO- meg In today's culture, there's pressure to be the perfect women. From tanned skin, to perfect nails, to huge voluminous hair. Unfortunately for me I am naturally super pale, so I have 2 options, either self tanner or the skin cancer machine (aka the tanning bad). I am not going to pretend like I have never used a tanning bed; I used to daily for about 6 months. But recently I have done too much research on their negative effects, so I am trying to avoid them like the plague. Now I have resorted to self tanner, which is wayyyy better for you! Out of all the ones I have tried I have a favorite, and it is the St Tropez bronzing mouse. I have been using this off and on since I was in high school, and I am about to finish my second bottle. I apply it with a mitt that they sell as an accessory to the mousse. I usually start at my legs, and work my way up to my neck. You also have to do it rather quickly, because the mousse dries faster than you would think! Here is an awesome video explaining it.
Although I love the product now, I have had one horrible experience with it. And it was 100% my fault.
It was the day of my senior awards ceremony, and I felt super pale. I was wearing a white linen and lace lilly pulitzer dress, and I felt as though my skin blended into my dress. So, three hours before the ceremony I decided to put it on. HUGE MISTAKE. It got all over my dress, it was mortifying, mostly because I was on and off stage all night. To make matters worse, my mom was pissed because she believed that ruined lilly pulitzer. Luckily, the dry cleaner got it out of my dress, but I learned my lesson. To avoid doing this to yourself, use the mousse 8 hours before you put on white, and shower it off before. I recommend putting it on before bed, and wash it off in the morning. When you wash off the mousse, the shower gets off the excess, leaving you with your new tan intact. This is a picture of me in the dress after I got it dry cleaned with my Nana, Mom, and Sister. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills- My favorite Housewife and my opinions of the rest of them4/7/2015 I am not ashamed to say that I am a bravo tv addict. I watch a majority of the shows, and I wish Andy Cohen was a family member so he would be forced to hang out with me. Anyways, RHOBH is my favorite group of housewives, mainly because I can't relate to their lifestyles, so it is kind of magical. They are all diamonds and rosè! Although most of these housewives are likable, there is one who is my favorite, and I relate to. And that woman is Brandi Glanville. Yep, I love the "villain". Before you Judge me, let me explain why I favor her. I know that a majority of her behavior is unacceptable, but honestly haven't we all done things we are embarrassed of? And yes, she may get belligerently drunk around these women, but wouldn't you?? If I had to deal with the most phony housewife this season (KYLE RICHARDS) I would probably act out too. I also understand why she threw wine in Eileen Davidson's face. If I was begging my favorite soap actress to re-enact a scene and she wouldn't, wine would have been thrown too. Or maybe not wine, just some serious shade. I hate to say this but I relate to her. She is struggling because she is on a show with insanely wealthy famous people. For example Lisa Vanderpump, who's closet is bigger than my house, or Lisa Rinna, who everyone knows because she was "famous" before she became a real housewife. Even I knew who she was before the show started. She is may even be intimidated by her friend Yolanda Foster. If she is it is because she is married to David Foster who is mega wealthy and insanely talented. And to top it off, Yolanda's daughter is one of the most famous models right now, Gigi Hadid. So yes, I relate to her because I am never the richest, prettiest, fanciest, or perfectly put together; but I embrace it and I know I am not perfect, just like Brandi. My second favorite is Yolanda, because shes the Gandhi of the Beverly Hills Housewives. Her style is classic and she is beautiful to look at! Next in line is surprisingly Lisa Rinna! She has made the show so much more entertaining because of her crazy interviews. Yes she was annoying by throwing a wine glass at Brandi and Kim, but I forgive her. #4 is Kim Richards. She can be irritating by how irrational she is, but her interviews make up for it! You would think I would have her higher on my list because I'm team Brandi, but her Amsterdam behavior was not okay.
My second to least favorite is Eileen Davidson. I find her annoying because she rolled in the show acting like she owned it, which she does not! I already had a bad taste in my mouth about her, but when she lost it in Amsterdam, all hope for me to like her was gone. Oh, and not to mention her olive green lace shirt with the nude bra underneath, that should not be allowed to air on television. I thought there were censorship laws.... You may also be wondering who is my least favorite, and that is Kyle Richards. It makes me sad because I used to love her in previous seasons. Now, she just cries during every single episode and overuses the word "mean". All she does is play the victim. Sorry not sorry Kyle. Please make it up to me next season. If you love fashion, history, men in suits, and New York City, then you must watch Mad Men ASAP! It focuses on NYC advertising industry in the 1960's, where you follow the main character Don Draper along his personal life and his professional career. It is a wonderful mix of style and a great story line that people of any age will yearn over.
